I was a bit surprised to see his rankings for the upcoming season. He has the Cards ranked about the Hawks. Cardinals- 13 Seahawks- 15 Rams- 17 49ers- 19 This seems all mixed up. Of course Im baised but Id rank the NFC west as: Seahawks 49ers Rams Cardinals but thats just me .

Pete just does not understand how complicated the dynamics of football teams really are. I think the chink in 49ers armor is the loss of Norv Turner as the main coach for Alex Smith the 2 year QB. Smith made progress last year under the guidance of Turner. Now that Turner is gone I expect Smiths progress to slow significantly thereby negatively affecting the 49er offense more than a little. The Cards have Matt Leinart seems he really has talent. I would take him over Smith. Seahawks should beat both those teams next year probably twice.

Seattle will never get any love. CBS shows fravoritizm towards anything AFC Ken Wisinhunt Pittsburgh. The Steelers Colts and Patriots are there bread and butter.

Our defense is going to shut down all the teams Lets hope so When I first read this article I was going to comment on how wrond everything was but then I realized Why bother? Power ranking this point in the year mean absolutely nothing. Pete just wants to be the first one with his rankings out there to generate some buzz and more name recognization for himself. IF he turns out to be right 0.5% chance he appears to be a genisus and when he wrong nobody remembers or there is a hunderd ways to explain it away. Releasing rankings at this point bears no risk to a writer He no more can perdict this any better then if he put balls representing each team in a lottory machine and pulled them out to determine the rankings. They will change after the first week of preseason and will be totally upside down about the second week of the regular season. Dont let this bother you.

Why does Prisco go on and on about Brady Quinn before the draft saying that hes better than Russell and that the Raiders should draft Quinn instead . Then give the Browns an A+ in the draft for getting Quinn alongside Thomas Then rank the Browns in last place in his power rankings . behind the Raiders!

First off Id be really if I was a SF fan and saw that Prisco was picking the 9rs to finish LAST in the division. Second Prisco isnt the only East coast guy to jump on this. Yesterday there was an article written by former scout Bucky Sparks in which he rated the NFC West. His line of reasoning was that James is due for a big year this year and last years abismal 3.2 yards per rush was an blip. He then said that Shaun cant blame his bad year on his broken foot and hes going to continue to decline this year. OK one guy stayed healthy all year and did nothing (but that was just an abhoration). The other guy missed 6 games because of a broken foot but hes definitely on the decline. No wonder this guy is a former NFL Scout.

Dont read things by Pete Prisco. I stopped months ago. The guy has no knowledge and is one of the worst sports writers of all time.
