The Mat-Su Sea Hawkers are on the Web

Palmer, Alaska
- What did us football fans ever do before the public access of the Internet and the World Wide Web? How did we seamlessly communicate and enact our football and civic activity? No blogs, no volume of online articles at our fingertips, no email, and what information that was available certainly was not at the blink of an eye.

Today, we have on-demand stats, video conferencing and team interviews, pictures of our favorite cheer…err, I mean football players, and 24/7 NFL Channel, ESPN, and Fox Sports.

So, why should the Sea Hawkers be any different? We know how rabid Seahawk fans are. We know the good works we like to do in our communities, but how do our respective communities know of our efforts? With advertising at an all-time high, this is not an effective means of communication for the daily Joe/Jane football fan. Therefore, we now simply climb onto the World Wide Web and the Internet. We create sites and effectively add to the layers of the web. We focus in on what matters to us and our communities, straining out the data we do not desire. It is an effective (cost and time ways) tool, when properly utilized. And 'Hawkers, as is apparent by the abundance of Seahawks-related sites, know how to do it right.

JP Campbell

To this end, the Tomahawker expresses his personal gratitude, as well as that of our booster club, to Mat-Su Sea Hawker JonPaul Campbell. Thanks to JonPaul, Mat-Su Sea Hawkers, Inc., has bravely entered the information highway at matsuseahawkers.com, right alongside such sites as Spiritof12.com and SeaHawkers.org.

JonPaul, commonly known as JP in the local ranks, is a life-long Sea Hawker and recent addition to the Mat-Su Sea Hawker board in 2008. JP stepped in and stepped up to the challenge of taking us public. He has done in three months what has taken us nearly two years to achieve: creating and launching our own public site, thus helping us to communicate about the Seahawks, Sea Hawkers, and our local community efforts.

People the world over will now have instant information about what is happening in Alaska and with Alaska Sea Hawkers. After all, it is our obligations to report such things, because as we all know, the Seahawks are from southern Alaska.

Or, haven’t you been watching your ESPN and Fox Sports? National media is always right!!

GO HAWKS…. And GO HAWKERS!
