Welcome back, have they said if they are going to put him in the nickel position or is he going to be on the outside again?

I thought we had finally rid ourselves of this guy. He may be a good person, but that doesn't win games. I can't even guess at how many long passes Tru has given up, but it has got to be a team record.
I want a championship. I do not believe that Tru can contribute to that end.
When did the marketing department take over all the team operations??
Sign players to win! Coach to win! Practice to win! No action or thought on this team should be done for any reason but to win!

I like the return of Tru myself. Every player gets injured after playing for x amount of years. Just as well they drop some of their skills off as time goes by. Trufant back into the nest provides a killer instinct and great mentoring to younger players. Has he gotten burned ? sure he has , every cb has. unless you are Derrell Revis "however you spell his name" whom in my opinion the NFL refs let him get away with entirely too much contact. I've heard the speculation he will probably be the number 5 cb . we'll see how long this lasts. He will play for a reason now . no body wants to be number 5. If Browner and Sherman take the 1 n 2 spot or even Lewis takes one of those spots , Trufant playing the nickel or dimeback in my opinion isnt too shabby a spot for him, and will only bolster the D backfield. I bet ya he"ll take a starting spot though.....

No offense AK, but do you remember Kelly Jennings. Dude couldn't cover himself if you have him a fabric store. Usually Trufant would be playing the other teams best reciever too. So go back and see teams we have played and figure how well he did. Yes, he gave up his fair share of big plays, but put him in the nickel and let me cover the inside where his quickness is more of a factor that sheer size and I think he will help out a lot.

MT, I should point out that I was quoting another post. That wasn't my line, I am a fan of Trufant and am very glad to see him re-sign. I posted from my phone so I just used quotations in place of the quote box.

Kelly Jennings was horrible in his rookie year. I remember watching games where opposing teams either picking on the left side (Jennings) or had receivers crossing deep and Jennings breaking off coverage putting Tru trying to cover 2 receivers. Of all the CB's we've had on the team, Josh Wilson was the definition of BURN in his rookie year. Second year he played well.

Tru has always been the steadiest CB (recently) we had. His height may have been a handicap with all the tall receivers in the NFL but he was always around to challenge the throw.

I think his leadership will be key on and off the field and I am sure that Seattle didnt pay too much either.

I doubt he will be used as our number 1 corner. Richard Sherman should be 1 followed by Tru with Thurmand in the slot.

And what is Browner? Chopped liver?
