Thread: Matt Flynn is a Seahawk!

    Matt Flynn is a Seahawk!

Thoughts on the acquisition of Matt Flynn? Apparently he has signed a 3 year $25 million contract with 10mil guaranteed. I think the guy has serious talent and undoubtedly improves the state of the franchise.

Brett Farve, Matt Hasselbeck, Aaron Rodgers have all been great QBs from GB. Now let's hope that Flynn can keep that tradition going! Either way I am excited about having Flynn and wish the Hawks the best with him as our QB! SQUAWK SQUAWK GO SEAHAWKS!

Holy hole in a doughnut, Batman! Seattle does it right ! Of course Carroll still throws out his moronic line - "We are really excited to bring Matt in here to compete with Tarvaris" - when EVERYONE knows that Flynn is the starter and Jackson is a massive loser. This gives us a good shot in the Division as long as coaching doesn't mess it up!

10 million guaranteed means we are not held hostage if Flynn is not who Pete thinks he is. Arizona just gave Kolb 7 million to be injured. I'm not a big Fynn guy as I've said in other posts, but I'm an eternal optimist in our Hawks. So let's solidify that o-line and get Flynn a couple more weapons on the outside. STEAL OF THE DRAFT...Greg Childs and Joe Adams from Arkansas. Childs had a knee injury two years ago, but would've been 1st rounder if not injured. Adams is undersized, but special teams nightmare alongside Leon Washington and slot receiver mismatch. Our defense is on it's way...I would love to get Dre Kirkpatrick at 12...any opinions.

I'm quietly optimistic with Flynn coming to Seattle. My prediction for this year is Flynn throwing a lot in coverage. It was the same with Matt Hasselbeck. His first season as a starter everyone said, "What?!" when Matt threw an errant throw. Everyone was screaming for Dilfer. But Holmgren stuck with Matt and look how that turned out. I hope I'm wrong but he will need some growing time to be comfortable but next year could be our year.

It's a positive that Seattle landed a free agent they actually targeted, but I don't understand why some people are so giddy over the flynn signing. He didn't seem to have a bunch of teams lining up to secure his services. Seattle got him for a fairly modest amount as far as free agent QB's goes. Miami sure didn't want to out bid Seattle and I didn't see any other team making a strong push for him.

I am optimistic about the Seahawks future as i am every off season, but am a bit guarded when it comes to Flynn.

I do hope Flynn pans out to be a solid QB. I do know that as soon as he has a couple bad games in a row, which he will, the same people here who have his picture on their jammies will be trashing him and Carroll relentlessly. I won't be one of those. I understand that signing untested players is a gamble. Sometimes it works out like it did with Hasselbeck, and sometimes it doesn't.

About time Pete Carroll has given me a reason to be excited. The franchise has been in flux since he took over, but now things are finally looking up. Flynn, Beast Mode, and a brutal d-line.
