I think We should. I think a young face in Seattle to compete with Portis would be a great thing. TJ..He just does not cut it. I say let Portis compete for the backup with a rookie and see how he grows. We all know Flynn is going to be the starter so let’s not get into all that TJ/Flynn competition.

I would like to see Seattle draft a quarterback, but I don't think cutting Jackson yet is the right thing to do. We all saw Portis do really well last season in the preseason against 3 string. We don't know how he will do against better players until he plays against them. Draft a qb and then head into preseason with 4, see where that takes the team. At least no one on here has suggested Tebow... lol
I think TJax is worth holding onto, especially if he's better than Portis. If we do draft a qb, I hope it's after the 3rd round.
There's alot of good DEs/LBs that may fall to our #76 pick in the third round.
Cutting Jackson and going with what they have now plus a draftee would be a really bad idea.

In his first season as the Seahawks starting QB, “T-Jack” led the Seahawks to a respectable 7-9 record in 2011. Although the Seahawks did notch seven wins with Jackson as their starting QB, it could be argued that the Seahawks reached seven wins in spite of Jackson not because of Jackson.
Jackson’s 2011 season statistics paint a picture of mediocrity. Out of 34 quarterbacks, Jackson ranked 21st in the NFL with a quarterback rating of 79.2.
Similarly, Jackson ranked 26th in the NFL in passing yards per game, 206 yards per game, and 22nd in yards per attempt, 6.87. Compounding matters is the fact that Jackson was the second most-sacked quarterback in the league in 2011.
At 28 years old, he’ll be 29 when the 2012 season starts, and with over 50 starts in his career what Jackson showed in 2011 stands a strong chance of being what you get in 2012.
With a young, talented roster that lacks pressing needs at other positions, sticking with Jackson in the 2012 season would be a mistake for the Seahawks. This is why we picked up Matt Flynn.
Although the Seahawks feature a relatively young roster, the pieces are in place for a playoff run in 2012 and future years.
While the defense emerged as one of the top units in the NFL in 2011, the offense was a middling unit in as inconsistency plagued the unit. This can be attributed to Jackson, as the Seahawks often became one-dimensional due to the inconsistency in the passing game.
Trading or cutting Jackson would improve the Seahawks in my opinion. We should pick up another back up and wish "T- Jack" well.

Most of the offensive inconsistency could be explained by the inconsistent play of the offensive line for half the season. The Seahawks will not be a better team because you simply let someone walk. That person has to be replaced by someone better. If Jackson was an attitude case and caused problems the concept of addition by subtraction would be valid. He's not a head case so that concept is not valid

Look I want what's best for The Seahawks as I'm sure you do too. I think it means getting rid of middle of the line talent and bring in some good talent. "T-Jack" is a hard driven guy and has a good work ethic, but it just does not translate to the field. I feel the Seahawks could bring in some one better to ramp up the QB secondary position.
