Thread: What would you do with draft #'s 12, 43, and 76?

Browner made the pro bowl for a reason, replacing a guy who makes the pro bowl after just his first season is a mistake

Browner was a late replacement for the Pro Bowl. He is better known for his penalties than anything else - from ESPN: "The 15 penalties called against Browner include five for defensive pass interference, three for defensive holding, two for illegal contact, two for offensive holding on special teams, two for unnecessary roughness and one for roughing the kicker. The official play-by-play book from the Seahawks' game at St. Louis lists Browner as the guilty party for what would be a 16th penalty, but that penalty, for a helmet-to-helmet hit, was actually assessed against Kam Chancellor." Browner may improve - after an injury early he ended playing for the CFL - but on the other hand he's not a rookie and it may be that bad habits learned may continue to haunt him. We can't afford the number of mistakes he made this year. If he doesn't improve we need someone in place to step in.

    Well said Garanddad.

and don't forget the Redskins game where Browner gave up the game winning TD and would had his PI declined only because the ball was caught anyway for the go-ahead score. I guess to me the potential to re-sign Hill and Heater I don't see drafting a LB as being as big of an improvement vs drafting a top CB. It could be Gilmore, but Kirkpatrick has a couple inches on him and perhaps with a full season of conditioning he can get that weight up, his weakness, without losing speed.

The reason i say Gilmore, i don't think Kirkpatrick will be there when our turn comes, but it would be nice if he where.

Yes a probowl replacement, that means he was what the 4th, or 5th best corner in the nfc out of what? 32 starting CBs? I'll take him on my team. Not to mention he adds greatly to the physical presence the defense has. He brings a nasty streak to the defense that I really like to see. Yes he needs to curb the penalties but I like what he can become, I still think replacing him is a mistake. Plus he is used to a different league, I think if you give him time he will overcome the penalty bug.

I think the Hawks should trade their first round pick to stock pile first rounders for next year. They could trade back to the end of the first or the top of the second and still get a DE like Nick Perry or Andre Branch. Then the should go for Zack Brown ILB in the second.
After that, they could look at a NW RB like James or Polk in the 3rd.

If they did this they would come away with upgrades at DE, ILB and back up RB. They would also be well positioned with two first rounders next year to get Barkley if Flynn is a bust.

    #12 - Traded to Detroit (For #22, and a 2013 2nd & 4th round picks)
    #22 - Dont'a Hightower
    #43 - LeMichael James
    #76 - Cameron Johnson

I do like Browner and hope he does get over the penalty bug. with the bad news about Walter Thurmond going in for a second surgery and being put on pup for first part of the season i think the Seahawks almost have to go after the best corner when our pick comes at 12.

I don't think that Seattle is even thinking secondary with the first pick in the draft, they may yet draft one but it will be in the later rounds. Going after the number 1 corner when they have a young promising secondary already in place is silly, especially after re-signing Marcus Trufant. Don't forget that Seattle still has Byron Maxwell.

I think Sherman should be the #1 with Browner and Trufant battling for #2 and one or the other playing the nickel. Ideally I'd like to see Browner on the outside, he is great at guarding the perimeter where he can use his length to make up for his lack of top end speed.
