There have not been many moves on the defensive side of the ball that anyone can question.... I was devastated when Seattle let go of Lofa but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Just because I don't understand the reasons for what they do doesn't mean they don't. I think Carol has earned the benefit of the doubt on this one!

yeah a blessing in disguise because David Hawthorne and his play on the field

I guess Barrett Ruud is their answer at MLB. He's a good player and not really a downgrade from Hawthorne but as far as team chemistry goes I think it would have been better to stick with Hawthorne.

I agree with you, Ruud is a good player but not Hawethorne. The way they let Heater go leads me to beleive that they are going LB in the draft. In the first couple of rounds there are some really good players.

Ruud is awesome when he's healthy. We should get an LB early in the draft regardless.

Ruud is long in the tooth, his knowledge will be far more valuable then any playskills he may or may not show on the field. Specualtion has Luke Kuechly mlb Boston College going to Seattle in the first round. I'm sure if thats the plan, this would be the reason Ruud was signed. I think he is going to mentor the rookie.

He's only 2 years older than Hawthorne, that's not particularly long in the tooth. I think he will be a solid contributor this year provided his injury didn't slow him down much and he doesn't become prone to more.

Wow, so Heater wasn't even worth 4 mil a year.

    5 years, $19.5M; $3.8M guaranteed

Which allows him to be easily dumped if the Saints want to next year.

He was most certainly worth it and the Hawks have the cap, stupid move.
