My vote, Earl Thomas.
Kam Chancellor
Earl Thomas
My vote, Earl Thomas.
I vote Earl but I want to nitpick about an issue... He goes for the ball without any awareness of his teammates in coverage. Fortunately he's not a baseball center fielder because he'd injure every right and left fielder on the team and farm system by season's end with collisions. He even had a somewhat scary collision in the Pro Bowl when almost no defense was being played.
Earl is better overall, and I like the fact that he plays so aggressively, I like that about the whole defense actually. He may get an injury or two but right now it's fun to watch and he's still very young. Kam isn't necessarily worse however, he just fits a completely different role and really I think both of them are better for each other. They fit real well together.
I recall differently. Kam was the one who collided with Walter Thurmond on a sure pick by Thurmond. The collision took out Thurmond for the season. But both play different roles. Earl has to know where the ball is at all times and make sure everyone is in position. He plays like a roving LB. Kam on the other hand plays like a roving DB. So, no vote for me.
You are comparing apples to oranges. They play different positions and have a different game. Switch positions with the way Seattle is playing defense and I don't think either would be as successful. Kam is my favorite defensive player right now that Seattle has. I love his hitting and attitude that he brings to the backfield. Earl, I beleive, can be one of the best players in Seahawks franchise history.
Agree with MT. Can't compare. Chancellor is currently my favorite Seahawk.
"I recall differently. Kam was the one who collided with Walter Thurmond on a sure pick by Thurmond."
He was referring to the pro bowl game and there was no Thurmond in the pro bowl
Kam has definitely become my favorite player on the defense, but Thomas is the better player. If you were to ask any team in the nfl which they'd rather have on their team it would be Earl, not that they wouldn't want Kam. Of course most teams would dream to have a safety tandem like them, I just can't wait for them to hit their prime together and be completely dominate.
I'll have to go with Earl.
Lets just all agree that we have a very talented tandem and hopefully they are together in Seattle for a long time.
