On Wednesday, April 1st, the kids at the Boys & Girls Clubs of South Puget Sound, Lakewood Branch got a visit from the Seattle Seahawks Josh Wilson. Anxiously awaiting his arrival, many of the kids wondered if the staff members were pulling an April Fool’s joke on them! Much to their delight, Josh walked through the doors of the Activity Center and spoke candidly with them about growing up in the Boys & Girls Club and the importance of staying in school, getting good grades and being active in sports. Josh was the first NFL player to visit the Lakewood Boys & Girls Club since its grand opening in the Gary and Carol Milgard Family HOPE Center in September 2007.

The kids are still talking about him and how awesome of a person he is. Opportunities like these help give our kids HOPE for their future. Huge THANKS to the Seahawks, especially Josh Wilson, for spending some time with our kids and being a great role model for them.

We value the partnership that we’ve had with the Seahawks over these past few years, and experiences like this make it even better when the kids get to experience it first hand.
